Citizen-science data reveal drivers of PFAS variability in backyard chicken eggs

Quoted values stay tied to the cited study. Empty sections are gaps.

Summary

Descriptive statistics from citizen-submitted egg testing reports. The study models censored values before statistical analyses.

Key numbers

Source-reported values checked against the cited page of the filed PDF. Values are reported as printed, without conversion. These are selected records, not an exhaustive transcription.

Evidence Fitness

Methods (brief)

Citizen-submitted accredited laboratory reports; full extraction and instrument protocols unavailable for all laboratories (PDF pp.3 to 5). No LC-MS/MS method is inferred.

Targets as printed or genericized: PFOS; PFOA; PFNA; PFHxS (PDF p.4 Table 1).

Limitations

Voluntary submissions and repeat sites limit independence. A maximum-value conflict is retained, not resolved. Laboratory and testing-site names are replaced by generic descriptors. No conversions, risk thresholds, representativeness claims, or safety conclusions are added.

Provenance notes

Local staged PDF copied unchanged. DOI checked in deposited PDF against MANIFEST; no external resolution attempted. Title and citation metadata checked against the PDF first page.

See the cell MISMATCHES.csv for unresolved discrepancies. The legacy MANIFEST analyte field is discovery metadata, not an audited target list.
